I decided to join the craze sooner rather than later and motivated some friends to come see Avatar with me. After all I wanted to check out the phenomenon I apparently can't ignore since the advertising is thrust in my face left, Right and centre and everyone seems to be talking about it.
So we all went to the cinema on a Wednesday (2 for 1 on Orange is a God send for any student) thinking it would be pretty cheap to see Avatar in 3D and to save that bit of extra money we took 3D glasses we had collected from a previous film. But turns out we were wrong in our attempts to save money since not only do we get charged £5.50 if you want to see a film on a normal day you have to buy 3D glasses every time! So we ended up paying another £3.00 for some more 3D glasses we didn't need. Heard of being eco-friendly all you 3D film makers out there? Think of all the plastic that's getting wasted (and all the students your ripping-off)?!
Any way got my popcorn, went in and took a pretty nice seat in the Kirkstall cinema. Some adverts came on in 3D and I was already hooked, i now cant wait to see Alice in Wonderland 2! Looks unreal amazing!
Then the film started and yet again i was hooked! All i can say is every thing that has been said about it is completely true. If any thing the film critics haven't paid it justice. A gripping story line which was accentuated by the stunning 3D effects. I'm not going to lie, i had a little cry at some of the film (excellent love story as well as action) but overall i came out the cinema feeling ecstatic it was definitely a feel good film and even though it was long i could have happily watch the story develop further for another hour or more.
Now I'm late for a very important date.... Alice in Wonderland 2! Hope this film lives up to the expectations as well.
